I need to do this more often.  Completely leave my comfort zone and do something radical.  Like beading a portrait of one of my favorites.....The Fat Jewish.  Shaboyha! 

Seed bead and SEQUIN embroidered Giant Clam

Last year I was invited to participate in a blog hop by sequin artist, Saturday Sequins.  I enjoyed it so much.  I made a sequin squid. This year, i've combined my love for bead embroidery and sequins.  I used sequin in two ways, by stacking them in the shell (very labor intensive!), and the traditional sequin embroidery technique in the center of the clam.  I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed making this piece.

Berkeley CA Show!
