Squid. Sequins, Seed Beads, Felt 11 x 4 inches on paper. |
I was approached by Sarah, from Saturday Sequins to participate in a Sequins blog hop. I agreed without giving it much thought. Sarah has been a huge supporter of my art and I wanted to reciprocate. I've only used sequins once before in college creating a Voodoo banner, but that was it. Scrambling to start the project three days before the due date, without sequins and without an idea, I desperately went to my son's school and begged teachers to give me whatever sequins they had. They all thought I was acting a bit crazy, handed over the sequins and based on the colors, created this squid. Sarah, you have possibly re-introduced a medium that I am fascinated with as much as beads. WOW!

Of course you did a perfect job! I love the way you acquired the sequins.
Eleanor, wow! Your squid is fantastic, and I love the story of how you got your sequins.
I'm so happy that you joined us for the hop and that you're intrigued by sequins! I foresee some amazing, sparkly pieces in the future. In fact, I might host another hop in April, and you're welcome to participate in that one, too.
*Hugs.*
Great squid, so colorful and I really like all your beaded sea creatures too! xox
Beautiful colorful squid. It is hard to believe that you have not used sequins in any of your other under the sea creatures, because they all sparkle like they have sequins in them. You do wonderufl works of art.

Your combination of colors in your squid is really wonderful. The colors themselves caught my eye immediately. And having to beg sequins off the teachers cracks me up! You rocked this!
