Giant Clam. 7 x 4 inches. Seed Beads, Sequins, Felt, Thread and Fabric.
Last year I was invited to participate in a blog hop by sequin artist, Saturday Sequins. I enjoyed it so much. I made a sequin squid. This year, i've combined my love for bead embroidery and sequins. I used sequin in two ways, by stacking them in the shell (very labor intensive!), and the traditional sequin embroidery technique in the center of the clam. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed making this piece.

Very inventive and it adds a whole new dimension to the piece. The color palette is also fantastic.

Great piece! I really like the look of the stacked sequins. Labour intensive, but so worth it (well, that's easy for me to say who just look at it, but you know what I mean). Fab job!
