Seed Bead Embroidered Coral Climate
Some of you know that I was asked to participate in The Battle of the Bead Smith competition this year. What an honor since these 275 international bead artists are SERIOUSLY talented. "Coral Climate" is the collar piece I created. I am crossing my toes I make it to the second round! EEEK!

Seed bead and SEQUIN embroidered Giant Clam
Giant Clam. 7 x 4 inches. Seed Beads, Sequins, Felt, Thread and Fabric.
Last year I was invited to participate in a blog hop by sequin artist, Saturday Sequins. I enjoyed it so much. I made a sequin squid. This year, i've combined my love for bead embroidery and sequins. I used sequin in two ways, by stacking them in the shell (very labor intensive!), and the traditional sequin embroidery technique in the center of the clam. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed making this piece.
